Welcome to Off the Field Counseling
I'm Happy You're Here!
Hi! Welcome to Off The Field Counseling. My name is Bella and I am so happy you're here. I am an athlete turned therapist who understands the struggles of what being labeled an "athlete" can bring.

Athletic culture often celebrates the ability to "do it all," but the reality is that we all face challenges that can’t simply be ignored or pushed aside. I offer athletes and high achievers a supportive space to address issues such as eating disorders, body image concerns, anxiety, depression, injury recovery, transitioning after a sports career, substance use, trauma, and more. As athletes, it's easy to focus all our energy on physical training, striving to keep our bodies in peak condition. But the truth is, 80-90% of most sports are mental. I firmly believe that the mental aspect of performance is just as crucial as the physical side.

After you hang up your jersey for the final time, it’s natural to start questioning your identity. Who are you without the title of "athlete"? This is a challenge many athletes face upon retirement. But you are so much more than just an athlete. That role is only a small piece of who you are, and I’d love to help you explore and rediscover your true self beyond that title.

I recognize that each person is unique, and my approach to therapy is tailored to reflect that. Therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all process. I aim to create a space that fosters authenticity, acceptance, autonomy, and open-mindedness. While it can be uncomfortable at times, it’s in those moments of discomfort that we often experience the most growth.

My Background
As a former collegiate softball player, I truly understand the pressure that comes with the "student-athlete" label. What’s often overlooked is the challenge of discovering who you are when that title is no longer part of your identity.

I graduated from Howard Payne University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical/Counseling Psychology while playing softball. After graduation, I worked at a residential treatment center for adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders, one of the deadliest mental health conditions. In 2024, I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX. After obtaining my LPCA, I began working with young adults at Woodland Springs Hospital, where I’ve been helping individuals navigate a wide variety of mental health challenges.
